GRUEN-CURVEX
After the Second World War, the GRUEN watch program was one of the US trendsetters in LIFESTYLE for watches and jewelry - especially with the patented GRUEN-CURVEX model technology.
During the economic upswing and social upheaval in the fifties and sixties of the last century, leisure behavior and lifestyle of the people in the western world changed drastically.
In this period, eternal legends such as ROCK'n ROLL, POP MUSIC, Elvis Presley, BEATLES, ROLLING STONES, "Hippies", the jeans trend, extravagant automobiles of the "golden fifties", "Harley's" as "Classics" emerged at clubs and at auctions and are loved and (dearly) celebrated today - and not least classics of watchmaking.
GRUEN-CURVEX models built later, such as the GRUEN-DRIVERS-WATCH and more unusual case shapes, also for CURVEX ladies' watches, have increased demand and image and have made the CURVEX model line, to a certain extent, a valuable own brand within the GRUEN watch range.
The successful GRUEN-CURVEX trend remained intact until the 1960s. In the meantime, however, fashion had also switched to round clocks, and GRUEN implemented this trend just as successfully. Other difficulties later brought the GRUEN watch legend to its limits, noting that the founding family's withdrawal from the company may have been one of the reasons.
